Gerry started
filming weddings in north London back in 1988 and over the past 20 years has been one of the most innovative and forward thinking people in the business. As a director of Purple Weddings Gerry spends much of his time developing the company, but still regularly films weddings too. Gerry loves working in the business “ I love the way we are always dealing with people who are thrilled and excited and full of plans, ideas and expectations, it’s just a great way to spend your working life”

Clarissa came
to us direct from the BBC where she had spent a long career as a
documentary filmmaker. After spending a year undercover with the
Metropolitan Police, the resulting two series won her major television
awards and national commendation. Wanting to move away from the
less savoury aspects of life, Clarissa swapped dawn raids for bridal
preparations and turned her well honed documentary skills to wedding
videomaking. She has never looked back. Clarissa is now in
her sixth year with us and loves every minute. For us, she was a great find. |

Simon spent
several years of his life travelling the seven seas on cruise liners
(it’s tough, but someone’s got to do it!) Simons job was to film
guests on board and at their various destinations, but there’s only so
many times you can go around the world and so Simon settled back in
the UK and began filming weddings. We spotted his work a couple
of years later and Simon has now been with us for the past eight
years. |

Tom was originally a wedding photographer who turned his photographers’ eye and a love of video editing into a (slight) change of career path. Tom is quite a
techie at heart, and loves to work with apertures and shutter settings to get a shot to convey exactly what he has in his mind. Tom has a great personality, is full of charm and loves meeting new people. Traits that have made him a very popular member of the team over the past
six years |

Stuart has
been making commercial and art house short films for over a decade and
between running regular marathons also managed to win the prestigious
Sci-Fi Film Festival. Stuart doesn’t film complete weddings as
such but specialises in producing many of our unique wedding sequences
~ the brides preparations, pop video sequences and of course our now
famous ‘Pirates’ wedding. Stuart has great use of technique and an instinctive eye; he just turns up, films some stuff and then a week later presents us with a fantastic piece. Excellent! |
